Of the possible five Swiss NHL players who could have been in action on Friday night, only two are playing. A trio is missing due to injury.
In the New Jersey Devils' ranks, only Timo Meier is currently fit for action - Nico Hischier and Jonas Siegenthaler had to sit out. Meier failed to score in the 3-1 defeat against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 28-year-old forward has now been waiting four games for his 16th goal of the season. The Appenzell native has yet to really get into his stride in 2025. In 17 games, he has only put the puck in the net twice.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will still be without Janis Moser. The Biel native has been missing since mid-December. His team won 5-1 against the Ottawa Senators.
Pius Suter was in action with the Vancouver Canucks and came away with a 2-1 win against the San Jose Sharks.
