The Nashville Predators suffer their second defeat in a row at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers. Philipp Kurashev and Pius Suter also lose with their teams.
Nashville, with Swiss captain Roman Josi, was beaten 3-1 in Edmonton. The German Leon Draisaitl with his 35th goal of the season and Connor McDavid with his assists number 75, 76 and 77 made the difference. Josi was on the ice for just under 29 minutes, more than any other outfield player. In the end, he had a minus-1 record.
After their second defeat in a row, the Predators are now four points behind Seattle for the final wild-card spot in the West. The San Jose Sharks are just one point behind the Kraken. The team with Philipp Kurashev suffered a 4:7 defeat at the Ottawa Senators, although the visitors were still leading 3:2 shortly after half-time. Kurashev, who has been absent for the last few games, played 13 minutes.
Pius Suter also went off the ice as a loser on Monday night. He lost 3-2 with the St. Louis Blues in Winnipeg. The 29-year-old had his stick on the tying goal to make it 2-1. It was his twelfth assist of the season. The Blues and the Jets, who were still missing Nino Niederreiter due to injury, are also hovering behind the playoff places in the Western Conference. Winnipeg has five points to make up in its remaining 16 games, while St. Louis has seven in one game less.
