Pat Burgener confidently qualifies for the halfpipe final at the home World Championships on Corvatsch

The international highlight of the Freestyle World Championships in the Engadin takes place on Saturday with Swiss participation. Three Swiss athletes made it through qualification for the snowboarders' halfpipe final.
In addition to Pat Burgener, Gian Andrin Biele and Mischa Zürcher surprisingly also made the cut.
In the absence of Jan Scherrer and Iouri Podladtchikov as well as the Japanese co-favorite Ayumu Hirano, who had to withdraw at short notice, Burgener finished in 8th place with 77.25 points.
To make it into the top 16, 62.75 points were required. This requirement was surprisingly met by two other Swiss athletes, 20-year-old Gian Andri Biele from Zurich and 17-year-old Mischa Zürcher from Appenzell.
The top three favorites, Yuto Totsuka (97.00) from Japan, Ruka Hirano (94.25) and Scotty James (92.25) from Australia, took first place.
The decision will be made on Saturday from 12.00 noon. Two hours earlier, the twelve best women will compete for the medals, including Isabelle Lötscher.
