As Swiss-Ski announced, the 2014 Olympic champion crashed on November 19 during a training session on the Kitzsteinhorn (AUT) and suffered a dislocation in his right shoulder and a fracture to his right eye socket. The latter will be treated surgically on Monday. The injuries will result in a break of several weeks, meaning that the 37-year-old from Zurich will miss the start of the season in December.

Podladtchikov made his comeback in January 2025 at the Laax Open, with the long-term goal of the 2026 Winter Olympics. In March, he suffered a torn cruciate ligament. He will now take another break before he can continue his comeback project.
