SC Bern announced the signing of Austin Czarnik at the same time as Kalle Kossila's transfer fell through. The American center turned out to be a stroke of luck, becoming the National League's top scorer with 20 goals and 36 assists. 56 points is the lowest figure since the 52-round qualifying campaign (2020/21).

Czarnik follows the Swede Marcus Sörensen from Fribourg-Gottéron. He finished ahead of Julius Nättinen (Ajoie) and Sakari Manninen (Genève-Servette); the two Finns scored 52 and 50 points respectively. The top scorer in qualifying was Ambri's Czech Dominik Kubalik, who scored 27 times.

Lino Martschini was the best Swiss player with 18 goals and 26 assists in 11th place in the scoring rankings. The only 1.68 m tall, powerful forward finished a regular season as EV Zug's top scorer for the fourth time, and for the second time in a row. "My goal is to do my job consistently and that's to produce offensively," Martschini says in an interview with the Keystone-SDA news agency. "It's extremely difficult to score in this league, so it's all the nicer to be here."

In addition to Martschini, two other Swiss men were honored at the gala in the legendary Bernese restaurant "Bierhübeli": Lugano's Luca Fazzini and Dario Rohrbach from the SCL Tigers. Nobody would have bet on the latter being allowed on stage. Previously, the 26-year-old had never scored more than 19 points in a National League qualifier. Now he has 12 goals and 20 assists. "I've been able to develop over the last few years and this season," says Rohrbach. "I was given a lot of confidence and a good role. It also helped us all that we were able to play in the same line relatively often." Then he also had the necessary luck. In total, the 14 top scorers collected 181,200 francs - 300 francs per scoring point.

The best scorers in the Women's League were also honored for the second time, with Estelle Duvin from SC Bern once again being the league's number 1. The 28-year-old Frenchwoman produced 23 goals and 31 assists in 28 games. The best Swiss player - Rahel Enzler from EV Zug - recorded just two points less. "It's very special to be able to receive this award," said the 24-year-old. In the women's competition, 150,000 francs were distributed equally among the eight clubs. This measure is intended to help promote the professionalization of women's ice hockey in Switzerland and strengthen the league as a whole.

The money will be used to support young talent. PostFinance is the most important partner of Swiss Ice Hockey and has been supporting young talent since 2002.
