The Winnipeg Jets stop the run of the St. Louis Blues and win 3:1. With the 53rd win of the season, the team with Nino Niederreiter sets a record.
The Jets showed a reaction to the bitter 4-1 defeat against Utah and were particularly convincing on defense against their division rivals. The visitors, who had previously won twelve games in a row, only managed 15 shots at the Canada Life Center in Winnipeg.
With the 3:1 win, in which Niederreiter went scoreless for the fifth time in the last six games, Winnipeg not only consolidated its top spot in the NHL, but also celebrated a historic mark. Never before in the history of the franchise have there been 53 wins in a season.
Janis Moser and the Tampa Bay Lightning also celebrated a victory. The team with the Biel defenceman, which has been safely in the playoffs since last weekend, won 5:1 against the New York Rangers.
