At the Giro del Veneto one-day race in northern Italy, the 34-year-old from Bern takes 2nd place. The Tour de Suisse winner and time trial world and European champion was only beaten by the Italian Silvia Persico by 29 seconds over the 116 km from Vicenza to Verona.
