Roman Josi will not be able to finish the NHL game against the Florida Panthers on Wednesday night.

After a check from opponent Sam Bennett in the middle third, the Bern native did not return to the ice in the final period.

Josi initially stayed in the game, even on the power play after the foul on him. However, the defenseman did not return to the bench after the break. Josi was being examined for an upper-body injury, the club announced.

Nashville's 4-1 loss to the favored Florida Predators was their 30th loss of the season without a point. With 47 points from 57 games, the Predators are a long way off the play-off places. The last team that would currently advance to the knockout rounds has 64 points. Nashville is currently 17 points behind.

Lian Bichsel is also not fit at the moment. The Dallas Stars defenseman was absent for the 6-4 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. The man from Solothurn suffered a concussion against the New York Islanders on Monday night.

The Chicago Blackhawks with Philipp Kurashev suffered their fourth loss in a row against Utah and are ranked second to last in the Western Conference, just behind Nashville.

Janis Moser, who had missed almost three months due to injury, also won his second game with the Tampa Bay Lightning after his return. After their sixth win in a row, the Lightning are clearly on course for the play-offs.
