Regez will therefore miss the knockout heats of the races on Thursday (14:00) and Friday (12:30).

Alex Fiva also had a false start with a retirement in the first run, but rehabilitated himself with the sixth-best time in qualifying for the second race.

In the women's event, Fanny Smith, Talina Gantenbein and Saskja Lack qualified for both races. Sandra Näslund was the fastest twice. Only the Canadian India Sharret was able to keep up with the Swedish record World Cup winner.
