The dominance of Thurgau at the Zurich Cantonal Championships came as no surprise. Giger Samuel, the Unspunnen winner, was one of the big favorites right from the start. In the final round, Giger immediately went on the offensive against his club colleague. Giger pinned Schneider to the ground and finally turned him onto his back.

Sämi Giger won the Zurich Cantonal Championships for the third time after 2016 and 2018.

In Oberdorf (Baselland), Sinisha Lüscher and Nick Alpiger shared the victory. Lüscher won the decisive throw against Adrian Odermatt shortly before time ran out in the final round. Nick Alpiger had already put the final round participants under pressure with a flat throw against Valentin Scherz.

Lukas Bissig achieved his third wreath victory at the Schwyz Cantonal Championships in Brunnen, his first outside his home canton of Uri. Bissig won the final round against Michael Gwerder in the seventh minute by pressing down on the ground. Of the top wrestlers, the Bernese guest Adrian Walther was tied back in Brunnen with defeats against Carlo von Rickenbach (21) and Lukas Bissig in the third and fourth rounds.
