SC Bern also wins its second duel against a cantonal rival this week. It deservedly beat the SCL Tigers 5:1 in its own stadium.

Just like three days earlier in the 6-2 win against Biel, SCB got off to a perfect start in this derby. The two Swedish forwards Victor Ejdsell and Emil Bemström gave the hosts a 2-0 lead by the 11th minute with their goals.

The fact that the SCB were able to win three home games in a row for the first time this season was also due to the return of Tristan Scherwey and Waltteri Merelä, who had been out injured recently, who enlivened the Bernese game with their energy. On the other hand, the visitors from Emmental did not play with enough urgency the day after their 3:1 home win against Zug, only creating noteworthy chances in the powerplay.

All in all, it was not enough for the Tigers to win in the PostFinance Arena for the first time in over three years. The interim 1:3 by Samuel Erni in the 51st minute was ultimately nothing more than a cosmetic result (and prevented Sandro Zurkirchen from getting his second shutout of the season in the Bern goal). After that, Marco Lehmann and Marc Marchon made sure things were clear with their goals. Bemström, who scored twice, made it 3-0 for SCB, who could draw level with the ninth-placed Tigers in the table with a win in Lugano on Sunday afternoon.
