Swiss national team coach Patrick Fischer laments the absence of Tristan Scherwey and Fabian Heldner for the Swiss leg of the Euro Hockey Tour.
Lorenzo Canonica and David Aebischer will replace them, as the federation announced. For the 22-year-old Canonica, it is his first call-up for the senior national team.
The Swiss Ice Hockey Federation did not provide any information on the nature of the injuries to Scherwey (SC Bern) and Heldner (HC Lausanne). The two substitutes Canonica and Aebischer both play in Lugano.
The Swiss national team will play three games in Zurich this week: on Thursday they will face Sweden (7:45 p.m.), on Saturday the Czech Republic (6:00 p.m.) and on Sunday Finland (3:45 p.m.).
