Qualification winners Lausanne remain a force at home and once again put themselves ahead in the playoff quarter-final against the SCL Tigers with a 4-1 win. The Vaud team can seal the deal on Sunday.

Langnau were the first to laugh, but Lausanne were the last to do so. With a double strike in the middle third, the Vaud team calmed their nerves against the defiant visitors from the Emmental. In the 25th minute, Dominik Kahun scored in overtime, in the 26th Gavin Bayreuther with a follow-up shot from a very acute angle. The indestructible Kahun, who was no longer wanted at SC Bern, now shone at Lausanne with his third playoff goal. The Tigers were unable to respond.

The series between the qualification winners and last year's finalists and the SCL Tigers, who are in the playoffs for the first time since 2019 and only for the third time ever, remained surprisingly hard-fought on Friday. Langnau needed just 20 seconds before defenceman Juuso Riikola took the lead with a wrist shot. However, it only lasted 47 seconds. The game calmed down after the 1:1.

However, the middle third could now have brought a preliminary decision, and not just because of the two goals conceded. Captain and team leader Harri Pesonen received a game-misconduct penalty for a check to the head and will also miss the Tigers in Game 6 on Sunday. Lausanne, on the other hand, always has the home-ice advantage. Since March 25 a year ago and a 0:1 in the quarterfinals against Davos, they have now won nine playoff games in a row at the Vaudoise Aréna.
