The Swiss women's team has suffered its second defeat at the European Championships in Lohja. The team led by skip Corrie Hürlimann loses 7:8 to Denmark in the south of Finland.
The decision in the fourth game of the Zug quartet of Celine Schwizgebel, Stephanie Berset, Marina Loertscher and Hürlimann came in the ninth end, in which the Danes, led by two-time World Championship medalist Madeleine Dupont, put the score at 8-6 with a three-goal house.
The Swiss were already trailing 0:4 after three ends, but then managed to improve. They took the lead for the first time in the seventh end thanks to two written stones - only to suffer the decisive setback immediately afterwards.
Hürlimann and her team-mates have a balanced record after four games, while the Danes have three wins and one defeat. The Swiss women's next opponents will be Germany on Monday afternoon.
