The scratch silver medal winner Seitz advanced to 5th place in the points race thanks to her triumph in the last of the ten classification sprints. Only the new Belgian European champion Lotte Kopecky collected more sprint points than the rider from Aargau, who lacked a lap win compared to the competitors ranked ahead of her.

Alex Vogel finished the high-class omnium in 7th place, leaving world-class athletes such as multiple world champion Rasmus Pedersen and Olympic champion Simone Consonni behind him.

Meanwhile, Jasmin Liechti beat her Swiss record in the individual pursuit qualification by almost five seconds. The athlete from Bern finished in 7th place in 4:32.764 minutes; she set the old record last October at the World Championships in Chile. Gold was secured by the outstanding Briton Josie Knight, who lowered Vittoria Bussi's world record by more than four seconds to 4:19.461 in the qualification.

The title fights will be concluded on Thursday with the decisions in the Olympic Madison.
