After two disappointing years - at least in the Swiss league - Servette is back in the playoffs. These are the facts from Thursday's full round.

Keystone-SDA

The Servettiens took the final step with a 5-3 home win against Biel, meaning they can no longer be ousted from the top 6 in the last two rounds. For once, not only Suomi players scored. Since the Olympic break, all the goals had been scored by Finns, the ninth at 1:1 against Biel by Jesse Puljujärvi. After that, however, Marco Miranda scored to make it 2-1 and Josh Jooris, Simas Ignatavicius and Noah Rod from 1-1 to make it 5-2. Servette's third win in a row means they've hit form in time for the playoffs, but Biel remain in 10th place above the bottom line.

Lausanne's crawl

Brilliant qualification winners and then play-off finalists, but Lausanne's form curve is pointing in the wrong direction this season. After the 2:6 home defeat against the sovereign leader Davos, the Vaud team has only won five out of seventeen games since December 20. As a result, direct playoff qualification is not yet certain, and the lead over the seventh-placed Rapperswil-Jona Lakers is only five points. With three goals and one assist, HCD captain Matej Stransky took a significant step towards becoming the top scorer - he would be the first Davos player to top the scoring charts in the National League or NLA since Lonny Bohonos 25 years ago.

Special Teams

If the SCL Tigers miss the play-in, then the "Special Teams" are to blame. The Langnau team has been playing too inefficiently in overtime and short-handed situations all season. This was particularly evident in the 3:4 home defeat against Fribourg-Gottéron: Langnau played eight power plays and only scored one goal. Gottéron made three goals out of their first four chances on the powerplay.

Two-goal scorers

The Rapperswil-Jona Lakers won the spectacular game with ten goals against Kloten 6:4. After this victory, the Lakers can no longer fall back to 9th place and have two chances in the play-in. Nicklas Jensen and Yannick-Lennart Albrecht scored two goals each. Jensen, an Olympic starter with Denmark, scored his 5th and 6th goals of the season.

The SCB is alive

Schlittschuhclub Bern defeated Zug 2:1 after a penalty shootout and has secured a play-in spot. After home defeats against Kloten (1:2) and Biel (2:3), the Bernese forced luck on their side this time. Sandro Zurkirchen (28 saves) won the goalie duel against Leonardo Genoni (24 saves), also because Zurkirchen saved three penalties, while Genoni was beaten with three penalties.

Playoff dress rehearsal

Ambri-Piotta won the main rehearsal for the relegation play-off 3-2 on penalties against Ajoie in Pruntrut. Ambri led twice, Ajoie equalized twice, Ambri won the penalty shootout. Ambri would still need a miracle to avoid the relegation play-off. The gap to Kloten is five points with two rounds to go.

Andrighetto's brace

Without shining, the ZSC Lions won 4:1 in Lugano. The game was tied 1:1 until the 37th minute, with Lugano gaining the advantage after the equalizer. Within two and a half minutes, Sven Andrighetto made everything clear with a brace to make it 3:1 (and his 16th and 17th goals of the season).
