The Genève-Servette Hockey Club does not spoil the party on Biel's "Family Day". The Genevans go down 0:8 in the Seeland.
This was not foreseeable - at least not in the starting phase: Servette began with motivation and ambition in the sold-out Biel Arena. Servette even dominated the first period. Nevertheless, Biel took a 1:0 lead thanks to a counter-attack goal from Toni Rajala.
Two hat-tricks
In the second period, Lias Andersson (2) and Rajala again increased the lead to 4:0 within less than four minutes. Rajala and Andersson left their mark on Sunday afternoon: Andersson also made it 6:0 in the final period - his first hat-trick in the Swiss league. The 26-year-old center scored his 7th to 9th goals of the season. No other player has scored as many goals as Lias Andersson this season. Rajala also completed his hat-trick in the final period - his fourth in Switzerland.
Biel and Servette are currently moving in different directions. After a miserable start to the season, EHC Biel recently celebrated six wins from the last eight rounds. Servette, on the other hand, have won just one of their last five games and left a desolate impression this weekend with a 5-1 loss at home to Lugano and an 8-0 loss in Biel. This was Servette's second crushing defeat after the 11-0 loss in Lausanne in the 3rd round.
