After a disappointing World Championship race and 8th place, Swiss snowboard cross racer Sina Siegenthaler is making amends. The 24-year-old finished third on the podium in Mont-Sainte-Anne.
Siegenthaler was only beaten by France's Léa Casta and Australia's Mia Clift in the final in the Canadian province of Quebec. Another Swiss athlete, Aline Albrecht, finished in 4th place. Siegenthaler had been the fastest in the morning's qualification.
This was Siegenthaler's second podium finish of the World Cup winter in the penultimate race of the season. She also finished third in Beidahu in China at the beginning of February.
The victorious Frenchwoman Casta has an almost unassailable lead over Great Britain's Charlotte Bankes, who did not compete on Saturday, ahead of the final race of the season on Sunday. The best Swiss woman in the classification is Noémie Wiedmer in 6th place, who had to settle for 8th place in Mont-Sainte-Anne.
