HC Sierre with coach Chris McSorley continues its unwavering march towards qualification victory. On Tuesday, Sierre won a thrilling Valais derby in Visp 4-2.

Visp, last season's Swiss League champions, were leading 2:1 against their cantonal rivals with five minutes to go. Marco Maurer and Léonardo Fuhrer then turned the game around from 1:2 to 3:2 within 63 seconds with his 28th goal of the season (!). Tyler Higgins made it 4:2 for Sierre with a shot into the empty net in the final minute.

HC Sierre lead La Chaux-de-Fonds by eleven points with nine rounds of qualifying remaining. With Sierre, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Thurgau (3rd) and Visp (4th), four teams have mathematically secured playoff qualification so far. In principle, the top 8 can all start planning for the playoffs, as the difference between the GCK Lions in 8th place and Winterthur in 9th place is already 16 points.
