Stefan Abplanalp will be in charge of the women's speed group from the coming World Cup season. He will take over the position of group coach, succeeding Roland Platzer.
For Abplanalp, it is a return to Swiss-Ski, having previously been the women's speed coach between 2004 and 2012 and coached the C squad for one season in 2015. This was followed by stints with foreign teams such as Norway and the USA. Most recently, the 51-year-old from the Bernese Oberland worked as a pundit for Swiss television.
After twelve years in the World Cup as a speed group coach, Roland Platzer has decided to take on a new challenge within the association. The 46-year-old South Tyrolean will take over the women's European Cup speed group.
