Aleksander Kilde will not be competing in Wengen. As the Norwegian announced via Instagram, the race weekend is still too early for him, two years after his serious crash.

In January 2024, Kilde lost control in the finish S of the Lauberhorn downhill and crashed heavily into the safety nets. The 33-year-old then had to undergo knee and shoulder surgery, and blood poisoning further slowed his recovery.

After making his comeback at the Super-G in Copper Mountain, Colorado, at the end of November this year, he wrote before the races in Wengen: "It's just a bit too early this year". Instead, he wants to focus on training days with his coaches at the moment.
