Austrian Stefan Eichberger tears his cruciate ligament in the first downhill training session on the Saslong in Val Gardena/Gröden on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old also suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee. This was the result of an MRI examination, as announced by the Austrian Ski Association on Tuesday evening. Eichberger will now undergo surgery in Graz and will be out for the rest of the season.
