Corinne Suter skis to the Swiss Super-G title in St. Moritz in superior style. This is the fifth time that she has won the national title in this discipline.
Corinne Suter, who returned to the top of the world after the Olympic Games in the World Cup, distanced Jasmine Flury by 1.67 seconds, while third-placed Daria Zurlinden lost two and a half seconds.
Stefanie Grob, who had won the downhill on Thursday, did not finish. Of the 52 women who started, a total of 22 were eliminated.
Manser doubles up
In the men's race, downhill champion Sandro Manser doubled up. With bib number 1, he put in a strong run on a slope that withstood the strain very well. Even the Olympic champion Franjo von Allmen was not in the lead at the intermediate times before he missed the gate after a directional error at the jump. The top 8 finished within one second of each other, with silver and bronze going to Gaël Zulauf and Loïc Chable.
The 20-year-old Manser is not yet World Cup-tested. However, this will change after a strong European Cup season. The man from central Switzerland has a fixed place in the downhill next winter.
