The 26-year-old technical specialist from Graubünden, who has alternated between the European Cup and World Cup in recent years, won the giant slalom in Turnau, Austria, on Wednesday.

Sandro Zurbrügg was the second Swiss to climb the podium in third place. Austrian Noel Zwischenbrugger took second place.

Another giant slalom is on the program in Turnau on Thursday.
