Kristoffer Jakobsen starts furiously in the World Championship slalom, but is then eliminated. The Swedish ski racer vented his anger in the finish area.
He was completely exhausted after his elimination from the World Championships: Swedish ski racer Kristoffer Jakobsen let off a lot of steam after his early end in the slalom in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The 30-year-old broke both of his ski poles - one on the course and one at the finish.
Jakobsen had been in the lead at the first intermediate time in the first run, but shortly afterwards he had lost his way. He had already taken off his helmet as he skied down the slope, completely annoyed. He then continued to rage at the finish - and also slammed his head protection onto the ground with full force.
Failure rate remains a problem
The high failure rate has been a problem for the Swede for some time now. Jakobsen has failed to finish in four of the nine World Cup slaloms so far this season.
He won World Championship silver with the team in Cortina d'Ampezzo in 2021 and bronze in Saalbach-Hinterglemm at the start. Jakobsen skied the fastest slalom of all in the team combined last Wednesday. After Felix Monsen's downhill, however, that was only good enough for eleventh place.
