Nicol Delago wins the downhill in Tarvisio ahead of Kira Weidle-Winkelmann and Lindsey Vonn and celebrates her first World Cup victory. Corinne Suter is the best Swiss racer in 15th place.

After an absence of 15 years, the women's downhill in Tarvisio returned to the World Cup calendar. Italian Nicol Delago secured victory. The fastest racer in training showed a confident run with bib number 3. One that could not be topped by any of the following athletes.

Second place went to the German Kira Weidle-Winkelmann. The discipline leader Lindsey Vonn, who came second in the downhill in Tarvisio in 2009 and 2011, came third. This is the fifth downhill in a row in which Vonn has finished on the podium. The last time the 41-year-old achieved this was in the 2017/18 season.

The Swiss women, on the other hand, failed to impress. The best of the Swiss-Ski team was Corinne Suter, who finished in 15th place. Janine Schmitt, who surprisingly finished in 5th place in Zauchensee, did not manage another exploit. She finished the race in 21st place. Priska Ming-Nufer (26th), Delia Durrer (28th), Malorie Blanc and Jasmine Flury (both 30th) also finished in the top 30.
