The second women's downhill training session in La Thuile, Italy, has also had to be canceled due to bad weather. The downhill has been removed from the program in the Aosta Valley.
The weather forecasts prompted the FIS and the organizers to abandon the planned downhill. The forecast for the next few days promises further rainfall. In order to minimize the risk of losing further races, they are now relying on two super-Gs in La Thuile.
There will be one super-G each on Thursday and Friday (start time 11.00 am). Saturday remains a reserve day in case it is not possible to race on one of the previous days.
A downhill and a super-G were originally planned for La Thuile. The Italians later took over the staging of the Super-G in St. Moritz, which fell victim to bad weather in December.
