Manuel Feller provides the big party at the slalom in Kitzbühel. The Austrian wins ahead of Loïc Meillard, who led after the first run.
Meillard took a lead of 48 hundredths into the second run, but quickly lost it. With only the 17th-best time, he fell behind Feller, but still finished ahead of the German Linus Strasser in second place.
This was the World Champion's third time on the slalom podium this winter. He had also finished second in Val d'Isère and third in Alta Badia.
Meanwhile, Feller celebrated his first World Cup victory in almost two years - and his first ever in Kitzbühel. The 33-year-old had struggled for a long time this season: After 5th place in Adelboden, however, he has now definitely managed to break free in his home race. Feller now has a total of seven World Cup victories, all of which he has won in the slalom.
Tanguy Nef finished seventh in the top 10 for the fifth time this winter, while Daniel Yule fulfilled the Olympic selection criteria at the last minute with 11th place. Alongside Meillard and Nef, Matthias Iten had already achieved this in the Swiss slalom team. Switzerland is entitled to a total of four starting places per discipline; the final Swiss-Ski line-up will be presented on Monday.
