Mikaela Shiffrin is back at the top: The American wins for the sixth time in the seventh slalom of the winter. Camille Rast and Wendy Holdener finish just off the podium in Flachau.
Shiffrin, the slalom and Flachau - a perfect match: On Tuesday evening, the 30-year-old contested her twelfth race on the slope in Salzburgerland. She finished on the podium for the eleventh time in a row and was the fastest for the sixth time. Shiffrin confidently brought her narrow half-time lead over compatriot Paula Moltzan to the finish line, finishing 41 hundredths ahead. It was Shiffrin's 107th World Cup victory, her 70th in the slalom. Moltzan climbed onto the World Cup podium for the eighth time. This was completed by local Katharina Truppe.
Camille Rast finished just two hundredths behind the Austrian. The skier from Valais thus confirmed her great form. For the first time after five podium finishes in a row, she finished outside the top three, with Wendy Holdener in fifth place only marginally behind her. There were no shifts in rank among the first five racers.
With Eliane Christen in ninth place, a third Swiss skier finished in the top 10. 26-year-old Christen from Uri secured her ticket for the Olympic Games with her second top 15 finish of the season, having already finished in 9th place in Semmering.
Aline Höpli (18th) and Aline Danioth (25th) secured points for the second time this season. The 24-year-old Höpli from eastern Switzerland improved by nine places in the decision, while Danioth from central Switzerland improved by four.
