The Alpine Para-Ski World Championships in Maribor end on a happy note for the Swiss delegation. Robin Cuche wins silver in the standing slalom category.
It was Robin Cuche's fifth World Championship medal, his fifth silver. At the championships two years ago in Spain, the 26-year-old from Neuchâtel and nephew of Didier Cuche came second in the downhill, super-G and combined. In 2017, he also came second in the super combined.
Cuche only had two opportunities to win a medal at the World Championships in Maribor after the speed races and the combined in Slovenia's largest ski resort had to be canceled due to a lack of snow. In the giant slalom, Cuche had to settle for 5th place directly behind compatriot Théo Gmür. Gmür from Valais missed out on the bronze medal in fourth place by 22 hundredths.
