World Championship gold in the Super-G as the highlight of the season: Stephanie Venier.
Keystone
Super-G World Champion Stephanie Venier will not be competing in the season finale of the Ski World Cup in Sun Valley.
Knee pain is keeping the Tyrolean away from the final speed races in the US state of Idaho on Saturday (downhill) and Sunday (super-G).
Venier had a "huge" load off her mind after the World Championships. "I put so much energy into it and then I fell ill in Kvitfjell. My energy level is no longer where it should be," the 31-year-old emphasized to the news agency apa. "I'm now in a situation where I can no longer compete for a bullet. That makes it easier for me to decide not to compete."
