Switzerland will be competing with an experienced trio and a young female athlete in the team competition, which begins the World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm on Tuesday afternoon.
The quartet consists of Thomas Tumler, Luca Aerni, Wendy Holdener and Delphine Darbellay. The 22-year-old athlete from Valais has failed to achieve any tangible results in her three previous appearances in the World Cup, but impressed in Switzerland's victory in the team competition at the World Cup final in Méribel almost three years ago.
Holdener was a member of the teams that won Olympic gold at the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang and World Championship gold in Are in 2019. Aerni was a substitute skier in South Korea. Switzerland has missed out on the podium at the last three major events. The USA will be the defending champions in Austria.
