Franjo von Allmen takes victory in the downhill in Crans-Montana. The 24-year-old clearly wins ahead of Dominik Paris and Ryan Cochran-Siegle. Marco Odermatt misses out on the podium.

After a risky run, von Allmen distanced Paris by 65 hundredths and the US American Cochran-Siegle by 70 hundredths. This is his second downhill victory of the season, following his triumph in Val Gardena/Gröden in December.

It is his second victory in the downhill in Crans-Montana, having already won in Valais a year ago. Back then, he beat Marco Odermatt and Alexis Monney in the Swiss one-two-three.

This year, however, Odermatt finished just off the podium in fourth place. This is the first time he has missed out on the top three in a World Cup downhill after eight races. The series started a year ago, also in the downhill in Crans-Montana. Odermatt is nine hundredths off the podium.

With Lars Rösti (6th), Alessio Miggiano (8th) and Alexis Monney (10th), three other Swiss racers are in the top 10.

The Italian Giovanni Franzoni was unable to build on his good results from previous races. The winner of the downhill in Kitzbühel missed out on the top 15 by 1.74 seconds.
