The first training session for the women's World Cup downhill in La Thuile has been canceled. Overnight snowfall and fog in the morning hours are to blame.

The downhill in the Italian ski resort is already scheduled for Thursday, but can only be held if training takes place on Wednesday. Two super-Gs are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

La Thuile is the penultimate speed stage in this World Cup season. After that, the final in Sun Valley in the USA is still to come. The women's downhill and super-G spheres have not yet been decided. In the latter discipline, Lara Gut-Behrami is leading the rankings; the 33-year-old from Ticino has a 55-point lead over the Italian Frederica Brignone.
