Snowboarder Julie Zogg makes it onto the World Cup podium for the 38th time. The St. Gallen native took 2nd place in the second parallel giant slalom at the season opener in Mylin, China.
In the final, 33-year-old Zogg was beaten by Japan's Tsubaki Miki by 43 hundredths of a second. The day before, the two-time world champion had finished in 5th place in the parallel slalom.
Flurina Neva Baetschi, the second Swiss woman in the knockout phase, was eliminated in the round of 16 and finished 11th. Dario Caviezel, who had finished 5th in the men's event on Saturday, was also eliminated in the round of 16 and finished the competition in 14th place.
