Sport climber Sascha Lehmann has managed to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris in Boulder & Lead.

As tenth in the two-part qualification series, the 26-year-old from Bern secured one of the twelve remaining tickets for Paris. After finishing 5th in Shanghai in mid-May, 13th place in Budapest was enough for him.

"There are a lot of thoughts going through my head at the moment and it still seems a bit unreal," said Lehmann. When the sport climbers were allowed to take part in the Olympic Games for the first time three years ago in Tokyo, he was merely a spectator. That's why he felt "a huge relief that it worked out this time."

Petra Klingler, on the other hand, who competed in Tokyo, clearly missed out on taking part in Paris. The 32-year-old from Zurich finished in 21st place overall in the qualification series.
