The third and final Grand Tour in women's cycling this year kicks off in Rotterdam, before heading to France via Belgium. In total, there are eight stages over a total distance of almost 950 km over seven days.

The individual time trial on the evening of the second day in Rotterdam, which is just over six kilometers long, and the mountainous finale in the Alps stand out. On Sunday, the legendary climb to Alpe d'Huez with its 21 hairpin bends awaits as a spectacular final decision.

With Marlen Reusser, Switzerland provided a stage winner in 2022 and 2023. Following her virus infection and withdrawal from the Olympics, the Bernese rider will not be at the start this time. Elise Chabbey and Noemi Rüegg have received a call-up. The 31-year-old from Geneva has proven that she can compete at the front with 11th place overall in 2022, while the 23-year-old from Zurich has underlined her progress with 7th place in the Olympic road race in Paris.

The top favorite is Demi Vollering from the Netherlands. Last year's winner triumphed in the Vuelta Femenina in May this year. Vollering's first challengers are Poland's Katarzyna Niewiadoma, third overall in 2022 and 2023 and Chabbey's teammate, and this year's Giro winner Elisa Longo Borghini.
