Dimitri Steinmann has no chance in his first final at the European Squash Championships.

The 27-year-old from Zurich lost 6:11, 6:11, 7:11 to top seed Victor Crouin in Cuenca, Spain, with the Frenchman successfully defending his title. Steinmann, who came third in the European Championships a year ago, had previously not dropped a set at this tournament.

There was no medal for Nicolas Müller. On his 35th birthday, the Zurich native lost the match for third place against the lower-seeded local player Iker Pajares in four sets. It would have been the fourth European Championship medal for Müller, the 2022 European champion. Squash will be on the Olympic program for the first time in Los Angeles in 2028.
