Ditaji Kambundji equaled the European season's best of Pia Skrzyszowska in the 60 m hurdles final in 7.78 seconds at the indoor meeting in Torun, Poland.
The athlete from Bern, last year's world champion in the 100 m hurdles, was only beaten by Devynne Charlton from the Bahamas. She achieved a world best time for the year of 7.77 seconds.
Annik Kälin also took second place in her first competition of the season with 6.71 m in the long jump. The Grisons athlete was four hundredths short of the limit for the World Indoor Championships, which will also take place in Torun from March 20 to 22.
