Noè Ponti continues to impress at the Swimming World Cup in Westmont. The 24-year-old from Ticino finished the 200 m butterfly in 2nd place after a strong race.
After having dropped out last week in Carmel, Ponti competed in the 200 meter butterfly in Westmont. With a final time of 1:49.32, he was only beaten in the final by Ilya Kharun, who was 86 hundredths faster. Ponti showed courage right from the start, leading the race up to the 150-meter mark. However, he then had to let the Olympic bronze medallist from Canada pass him in the last two lanes. Behind Ponti, the American Julian Trenton swam to bronze.
On Monday night, Ponti will be in action in the 50 m butterfly and will be aiming for his next podium finish.
