The captain from Valais scored to give his team a 1-0 lead and provided the assist for the 3-1. The New Jersey Devils, who also had Timo Meier on the ice and were still missing Jonas Siegenthaler through injury, conceded four goals in the final period. The Devils thus lost 3:5 against the Calgary Flames.

Hischier scored for the fifth game in a row. He now has 55 points (29 goals, 26 assists). His first Swiss pursuer Kevin Fiala, on the other hand, remained on 45 points like Meier. The St. Gallen native was at least able to enjoy a 3:1 mandatory win with the Los Angeles Kings against the Chicago Blackhawks, who were playing without Philipp Kurashev.

After six games without a goal, Nino Niederreiter scored again as a passer. The Grisons native won with the Winnipeg Jets against the Edmonton Oilers 4:3 n.V. The Jets have already reached the 100-point mark after 70 games.

In the Swiss duel between the Dallas Stars with Lian Bichsel from Solothurn and the Tampa Bay Lightning with Janis Moser from Biel, a penalty shootout decided victory or defeat. In the end, Tampa Bay took two points. Both teams are clearly on course for the playoffs.

The same cannot be said of the Nashville Predators. The team, without their injured captain Roman Josi, conceded their fourth defeat in a row in a 4-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.

Pius Suter and the Vancouver Canucks lost 3:4 n.V. against the St. Louis Blues. The Zurich native came away empty-handed after scoring a total of four goals and picking up an assist in the previous four games.
