Kadetten Schaffhausen earns its first match point in the semi-final play-off against Suhr Aarau. Two days after winning at home in overtime, the champions prevailed 27:26 away from home.

In the sold-out Schachenhalle, Joël Willecke's highly motivated underdogs once again put up a very good fight. Suhr Aarau narrowly missed out on its fourth overtime in a row in these playoffs. In the last 15 seconds, coach Aleksandar Stevic's team had the chance to equalize with a final attack, but missed the 27th goal.

The comeback thus remained unfinished, but the last ten minutes of the game were nevertheless impressive. After the Kadetten, with their Icelandic top scorer Odinn Rikhardsson (7 goals), seemed to have pulled away to 25:18, the hosts went on an 8:2 run in front of their home crowd.

The third duel in the best-of-five series will take place on Saturday in Schaffhausen. In the other semi-final, BSV Bern and Kriens-Lucerne will face each other for the second time on Thursday. The Bernese won the first match away from home.
