The Canadian Summer McIntosh pulverizes the world record in the 400 m crawl and wins the national World Championship qualifying event in 3:54.18.
The three-time Olympic champion improved the previous record set by Australian Ariarne Titmus in 2023 by 1.3 seconds in Victoria, British Columbia.
"Going into this evening, I knew my training had been very good over the last few months and I knew I could achieve something special," commented the 18-year-old swimming star on her first appearance. McIntosh will compete in six other disciplines at the Canadian qualifiers for the World Championships in Singapore in July.
