HC Lugano has signed the Swede Einar Emanuelsson until the end of next season. The 28-year-old forward moves from Swedish champion Lulea to the National League.

In his eleven seasons with his home club, Emanuelsson has earned a reputation as a fast and hard-working player, but has been less characterized by scoring in recent years. This season, he has recorded two assists in 19 games.

Emanuelsson, who has yet to make an international appearance for Sweden, has a contract with Lulea that runs until the end of the 2027-28 season. Lugano are loaning him out for this period. The attacker will help the Ticino club make up for the extended absence of Brendan Perlini and cushion the uncertainty surrounding the return of Rasmus Kupari.
