Swiss skip Silvana Tirinzoni's disappointment is clear to see

The Swiss curlers led by skip Silvana Tirinzoni win World Championship silver in Uijeongbu in South Korea. They lose the final against Canada 3:7.
The preliminary decision was made in the eighth end. Alina Pätz missed the last difficult stone, allowing the Canadians around skip Rachel Homan to steal two stones and take a 6-3 lead. In the ninth end, the North Americans stole another stone, whereupon the CC Aarau team gave up.
The Canadians had already written two stones in the seventh end, which the Swiss team of Selina Witschonke, Carole Howald, Tirinzoni and Pätz only managed in the fourth end. They made too many mistakes to defeat the favorites, who played brilliantly in the decisive moments.
The Swiss had already lost to the Canadians in last year's World Championship final (5:7), having previously won four World Championship titles in a row. Tirinzoni has never managed to defeat Homan at the World Championships. In the preliminary round, she lost 6:7 after an extra end.
It was Switzerland's 19th women's World Championship medal, their fourth silver in addition to ten gold and three bronze. Canada won gold for the 19th time.
