All three teams should avoid elimination in the group stage.

Adrian Heidrich and Jonathan Jordan, who had lost the Swiss duel in Group A against Marco Krattiger and Leo Dillier, withstood the pressure. In their final group match against Hans Hannibal/Nicolas Llambias from Uruguay, they won 21:16, 21:15 to advance to the knockout phase in third place. The same applies to Krattiger/Dillier, who occupy second place. They lost the top match against the Norwegians Anders Mol/Christian Sörum in three sets (26:24, 16:21, 12:15).

Yves Haussener and Julian Friedli, on the other hand, are not through yet. They lost their second group match against the Qatar duo Ahmed Tijan/Cherif Younousse 15:21, 15:21 and now have one win and one defeat. On Monday, they will play a duo from Cuba, who have suffered two defeats so far.

Two teams from each group of four and the four best third-placed teams qualify for the round of 16. The remaining eight third-placed teams will play in a play-off for the remaining four places in the knockout round.
