At the Freestyle World Championships in the Engadine, the snowboard finals in the Big Air will take place on Friday without any Swiss participation. One day after the men, the women also failed to qualify.

Ariane Burri came closest to reaching the final. In eleventh place, the 24-year-old from Lucerne was just seven points short of securing one of the eight places in the women's final. Andrina Salis from Bern, who is five years younger and finished 15th, failed by a wider margin.

The qualification was won by New Zealander Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, who is going for her first World Championship title in Big Air after winning three World Championship gold medals and the 2022 Olympic Slopestyle title. She will be challenged by Austria's defending champion Anna Gasser and a quartet from Japan, among others.
