Swiss Olympic has selected a quartet for the Olympic premiere of the ski touring races at the Winter Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo (February 6 to 22).
Marianne Fatton from Neuchâtel and Caroline Ulrich from Vaud will be representing the Swiss colors in the women's event, while Jon Kistler from Zurich and Arno Lietha from Graubünden will be competing in the men's event. Fatton became world champion in the sprint in Morgins in 2025, while Kistler won bronze at the World Championships.
Three sets of medals will be awarded in the ski touring race in Bormio: one sprint each for women and men as well as a mixed relay are on the program. After a successful test at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, this young discipline will be included in the Olympic Games program for the first time. It remains to be seen whether it will remain an Olympic discipline beyond Milan-Cortina 2026.
Swiss Olympic already announced the first selection for the Winter Games last June with the women's, men's and mixed curling teams. A delegation of around 180 athletes is expected by the time the selections are finalized on 26 January.
