The Swiss curlers led by skip Yannick Schwaller have made a successful start to the World Championships in Moose Jaw, Canada. The CC Geneva team defeated Norway 7:4.
Pablo Lachat-Couchepin, Sven Michel, Schwaller and Benoît Schwarz-van Berkel had everything under control against Norway with skip Magnus Ramsfjell. After trailing 0:1, the Swiss quartet scored two stones each in the second, fourth and sixth ends. In the tenth and final end, the Norwegians gave up after the second-last stone.
On Sunday evening, the Swiss will face Austria in the second game.
