Noah Bögli, Mats Poot, Pascal Tappeiner and Alex Vogel needed 3:53.625 minutes for the 4000 m and were therefore just over half a second faster than on Wednesday in qualifying. In the battle for bronze, the Swiss foursome will meet the Italian quartet on Thursday evening; the teams from Denmark and Great Britain will compete for gold.

The women's four was 1.7 seconds slower in the main round than the day before when it set a new national record in qualifying. Michelle Andres, Jasmin Liechti, Annika Liehner and Aline Seitz missed out on taking part in the small final by 1.4 seconds; the quartet finished in 5th place. This is the best classification at the European Championships since Swiss Cycling launched the women's track project in 2017.
